Hello again Mad Nomads,

If you are visiting Dublin sometime in the next five months and have had your fill of our black nectar, diddley-aye traditional music, all things green and celtic kitsch then you may want to take a journey through time and into the wonders of ancient Egypt to discover the tomb of the ‘Boy King’ Tutankhamun at the RDS. An authentic recreation of the tomb, along with state of the art multimedia technology, allows visitors to experience the discovery in much the same way as Howard Carter did when he first found the treasure-laden burial chamber of the famous Pharaoh in 1922.

It’s sure to be an exciting, sensational and interactive exhibit so if you’re very eager to go see well thats Pharaoh-nuf….sorry guys, it had to be said.

Hello mad nomads,

As we tend to profess with some regularity here at The Four Courts Hostel, Dublin is a fan-feckin’-tastic City for fun and good vibrations any time of the year and this week is certainly no exception, indeed it may even be a little bit better than usual. As well as the regular live gigs, great music and energetic nightlife we all take for granted,  Arthur’s Day, as has been posted here previously, offers an extraordinay choice of live acts from a catalogue of high-profile and high-calibre musical artists - that’s Thursday the 23rd (don’t forget our free Bar-B-Q and discounted beer on Thursdays, a nice way to begin Arthur’s Day celebrations)

CULTURE NIGHT - Friday 24th, lets us explore the City’s cultural oferings in a unique way as all of Dublin’s attractions keep their doors open untill 11pm including the Croke Park GAA museum, Christchurch Cathedral, Saint Patrick’s Cathedral, all National Museums & Galleries, The GUINNESS storehouse / factory tour (including free pint),  Jameson Whiskey Distillery (incl. Free whiskey)…and a whole host of other cultural outlets, far too numerous to mention in the confines of our humble blog, make up a veritable culture feast for the mind and it’s all for FREE….and with free buses running for the evening there’s no excuse not to soak it all up.

And then it’s Saturday….whoohoo….(former Four Courts Hostel family members Rob and Shane will be donning blue war-paint and lioncloth and taking to the stage of THE Academy as half of legendary Gaelic Doom Metal four-piece Mael Mórdha….definitely worth a look…you’ve never seen anything like it!)

And as usual The Four Courts Hostel is in the perfect location for all of this, what a week to come to Dublin and sleep with the best.

over and out.

16-days & nights of explosive boundary pushing performing arts & music

Audiences never know what to expect at FRINGE and this year the whole city comes alive with the most exhilarating festival in town and an edgy back-to-basics DIY theme to get the whole city moving again.
