Location: East Link Bridge, North Wall Quay, take the tram across from the Hostel 15mins.

Tickets will be on sale from Thursday the 19th of November through ticketmaster and usual outlets nationwide. Grammy-Award winner Ne-Yo, who has impressed audiences with his talents since his 2006 with his multi-platinum, chart topping debut, In My Own Words, is fed-up with the sloppiness of current R&B. "Years ago, if you weren't wearing the right suit or have a correct crease in your pants, you couldn't even get in the door-let alone on stage to perform."
With Ne-Yo's third disc, Year of the Gentleman, the Las Vegas native and premier songwriter has constructed a suite of songs that shows exactly what he means by class. Written over the course of travels through Europe last year and influenced by his own fascination with the Rat Pack, Ne-Yo explains, "For me, the sharpness of Sammy and Sinatra is the kind of style I strive for in clothes and music. Year of the Gentleman is named in honor of those guys."

Drop Haiti's Debt - Vicar Street Concert
Date: 11/02/2010
Location: Thomas Street, just around the corner.
Web:
Directions: A short hop from St Patrick's Cathedral
Detail: Nobody can fail to be moved by the scale of the human suffering in Haiti following the devastating earthquake, which has left hundreds of thousands of people dead, thousands more missing and millions homeless. The response from the public has been phenomenal – and the donations are urgently needed.
However, not many people understand that even as new money is pouring into Haiti to bring relief to millions in the aftermath of the earthquake disaster, the government is still paying money to the International Monetary Fund and other creditors to pay off national debts which corrupt Haitian dictators ran up in the past.
Today, Haiti still owes some US$890 million, much of it to global financial institutions, and is due to make millions in debt payments in the coming year alone. ?Supported by many leading Irish artists, Trócaire will host the Drop Haiti’s Debt concert in Vicar Street, Dublin on Thursday February 11th. All proceeds from ticket sales will go towards Trócaire’s relief efforts in Haiti, however the primary purpose of this concert is to raise awareness for Trócaire’s Drop Haiti’s Debt campaign. While financial assistance is of paramount importance in the immediate, in the long run Haiti will only recover and begin to build a sustainable future when its immense debt is dropped. Acts on the night will include: Cathy Davey, Julie Feeney, Villagers, The Chapters, The Chakras and many more...

Independently released, the record is co-produced by The Low Anthem and Jesse Lauter. Recording was done in January of 2008 in the bleak, off-season quiet of Block Island, RI. Lauter assembled a pro-quality portable recording rig which was transported by ferry out to the island and assembled in an empty summer cabin. The crackling of the woodstove and the rushing of sea breezes against the panes were the only foreign sounds the band heard. The setting was suited to the body of work.
