Almost all the pubs in Dublin serve food as well as the restaraunts listed below until around 9pm. You can get a nice meal for around €10.00-€12.00 while you're drinking your great Guinness or sipping your whiskey.
Great Pub Food.
- O'Sheas : If you're looking for a Traditional Irish pub look no further than the O Sheas Merhcant on Lower Bridge Street. This pub is a great way to spend a night out in Dublin from the live music nightly to possibly one of the cheapest pints in Dublin City Centre, a pint of Guinness. The pint itself tasted well too. The barstaff are friendly and the Irish memrobilia on the walls of the spacious bar adds a nice authentic touch. All in all, a good pub for a night out.
- The Brazen Head : The Brazen Head is located on Bridge Street on the southside of the city and is the oldest pub in Dublin, a pub having always stood on this spot since 1198. Leading up to the pub, you pass through the beer garden which is a great spot on a sunny day for a few beers. It also has a bar now as well as heaters so smokers can light up come rain or shine. The crowd is a good mix of young and old offering a lively ambience. It is open late at the weekend with live trad music playing from 9.30 nightly and a Sunday session from 12.30pm to 2.30pm. The price of a pint is slightly higher than the surrounding pubs but the service is great. It also offers a delicious food menu which on the night we were there was being heartily tried and tested by some patrons and they really looked like they were enjoying it. It is a bit outside the centre of the city so if you are going here, you may as well stay the night, but having said this, it is well worth a visit if only for it's historic value.
- O'Neils : An excellently situated pub with a magnificent clock over the door, O'Neills is a warren of five or six bars in difenet sized area. The staff are friendly and professional and each day there is a large carvery lunch with about five roasts and some tradional favourites like Irish Stew and bacon and cabbage. All the food is very reasonably priced and the desserts, including home made rhubarb pie are a treat. There is also an extensive A La Carte served daily.
- The Porterhouse : The Porterhouse is centrally located on Parliament Street and is surrounded by Temple Bar. The atmosphere is cracking with an acoustic band playing some classic acoustic songs and during the bands interlude, classic rock songs were played. Live Trad Music is performed on Saturday afternoons and Sunday evening. The Porterhouse has late night serving over the weekend until 1.30a.m. and regular pub hours during the week. The drink is a little expensive but the number of drinks available makes up for this. The bar area can get quite packed and as a result service can be slow at times. The Porterhouse has a wide variety of beers from around the world as well as it's own variety of inhouse brewed beers and stouts although all are not available from some of the bars. Due to it's uniqueness it can be crowded.
This pub is wheelchair accessible.
Take aways :
- Leo Burdocks: Established in 1913, this quintessential Irish take-away shop across from Christ Church Cathedral is a cherished Dublin institution. Leo Burdocks serves the best fish and chips in Dublin. The fact that they smoke the fish before frying it, gives the fish a whole new level of flavor. Make this a dining destination while in Dublin coz they're cheap and just around the corner.

Seriously good food , I've never been disappointed here , the baby back ribs are so damn juicy you'll be sorry you've finished. Toblerone cheesecake at the end might have to be shared out between a few of yis , if you even have any room left for it.
- Gallagher's Boxty House: Gallagher's Boxty House is a traditional Irish pub style restaurant located in the heart of Temple Bar. Good price-quality relation.
